We’ve had a very busy and interesting few weeks here at Charnley House car home in Hyde.
Firstly, staff and residents alike would like to express their sadness at the passing of Queen Elizabeth and thank her for all her work over the past 70 years. We celebrated her life over the last few weeks and watched the funeral with great solemnity but also with joy at remembering her majesty and all the kind and wonderful things she did.
We decorated Charnley House with the union flag and photographs and had tea and cake and scones in her honour.
We’ve had a very competitive games afternoon playing Connect 4. You can see from the photographs who was celebrating their wins!
We’ve been making cookies and, of course, eating them once they were ready. They were absolutely delicious!!
We’ve also had a jigsaw afternoon, which was very relaxing.
We’ve been out on a boat trip in the last of the lovely weather with some fantastic wildlife on show, and, of course, there were ice creams for all!
