Our seaside day on 22nd July was, unfortunately, a rainy affair, so we were unable to have all the fun and games outside. Never fear though, our resourceful team brought the fun inside instead! As you can see, everyone had a whale of a time!
We’ve also been doing decorative connection puzzle pieces, with each resident designing their own jigsaw puzzle piece. When complete the puzzle will be connected and put on display in the main hallway. Here are the photos so far. We’ll post an update when the puzzle is complete and on display in all its glory.
As lockdown continues, we are still unable to provide off site or external entertainers for our residents, but our staff have been keeping them highly entertained with a variety of games and activities.
We had a hoopla competition, which Rita won!

We also celebrated World Chocolate Day on 7th July during which we held a chocolate tasting afternoon. You can imagine that went down very well and was very much enjoyed by residents and staff alike.

We are all hoping for glorious sunshine on 22nd July, when we will be holding our “By The Seaside Day” in the garden. On offer will be burgers, hot dogs and chips for dinner and plenty of seaside games and fun for all.
Our residents had a delightful time this week having a tenpin bowling competition. The rivalry was fierce and, in the end, Joyce won! Some residents, including David and Liz (pictured below) enjoyed playing a more serene game of dominoes.
We would also like to thank Tesco for donating a food and toiletries hamper for us all.
We’d like to say thank you to St Mary’s School for sending us some face shields that their students have made for us. A local company also donated some more face shields.
Thank you to Domino’s Pizzza in Chesterfield who kindly donated 3 large margarita pizzas for all our staff as an appreciation for all their hard work. They went down a treat!
Thank you too to Wendy Cooper from Temple Spa who kindly donated “pamper packages” for all our staff as a gesture of good will. Here’s Josie, our activities coordinator with the lovely gifts.
Our Residents have been passing the time participating in arts & crafts. Some have been decorating numbers for their bedroom doors and colouring in bunting for our VE Celebrations – 75 years since VE Day!
The flags have been strung together and are proudly displayed in the conservatory and lounge for all to see and remember.
Residents have also been taking part in their favourite “Target Game/Bean Bag Toss” which gets very competitive at times!
We have also received some lovely letters for our residents from people at Remedi, which are displayed in the main hall way for all to see.
