Charnley House Care Home in Hyde has had an eventful week filled with engaging activities and delightful experiences for our residents. Here’s a recap of the past week’s highlights:
Blueberry Muffin Day (11th July)
Our residents embraced their inner bakers on Blueberry Muffin Day. The day was filled with the delicious aroma of freshly baked blueberry muffins wafting through the halls. Residents participated in the baking process, from mixing the batter to sprinkling the blueberries. The activity not only provided a sense of accomplishment but also allowed for some delightful tasting sessions.
Visit to the Local Primary School (19th July)
On Friday, our residents had the pleasure of visiting the local primary school to attend the Year 6 leaving assembly. The event was heartwarming and brought back fond memories of school days for many of our residents. They enjoyed watching the performances and listening to the speeches, and some even shed a few tears of joy. The interaction with the children was uplifting, and the residents were thrilled to be a part of such a significant milestone in the pupils’ lives.
World Ice Cream Day (21st July)
World Ice Cream Day was a sweet success at Charnley House. Our residents indulged in a delightful afternoon of ice cream tasting. With a variety of flavours, toppings, and sauces to choose from, everyone had the opportunity to create their perfect ice cream sundae. The day was filled with smiles and laughter as residents shared their favourite combinations and childhood memories associated with this beloved treat. It was a refreshing and joyful way to beat the summer heat.
Poland Day (22nd July)
Today, we celebrated Poland Day, an immersive cultural experience that brought the vibrant essence of Poland to Charnley House. The residents enjoyed tasting a selection of Polish snacks and drinks. We listened to enchanting Polish folk music, which added to the festive atmosphere. The day was also educational, as we discussed Poland’s rich history and admired pictures of its beautiful architecture and landscapes. Residents enjoyed learning about the country’s culture, colours, and significant landmarks.
Each activity this week was designed to engage our residents physically, mentally, and socially, ensuring they had fun while also stimulating their minds. We are committed to providing a dynamic and enjoyable environment at Charnley House, and we look forward to more exciting activities in the weeks to come.
