Lots of fun was had by the residents here at Morton Manor on Valentines Day.
We had the hearts on the activities board, lovely Valentines themed tables for dinner and many of the residents received and sent Valentines cards.

Our Residents enjoyed making crafts and cards for Valentine’s Day, which are all proudly displayed in the main hall-way.
Staff set up a table in the Conservatory for John to have his lunch with his wife Maureen. They both enjoyed a glass of wine together and Maureen was overwhelmed when John handed her his Valentine’s card.
All the residents had a glass of fizz and chocolates during the day to celebrate.

WOW! What a busy month so far for our residents and staff here at Bank Close house. Every month we have different artist visit us from Lost Chords to entertain our guests with some beautiful singing and musical instruments. Lost Chords are a dementia friendly charity who entertain our residents with either Folk, Opera, Harpist, or Pianist.
Here are some pictures of the folk duo who spent the afternoon with our residents and staff recently, and yes, the residents do get involved by playing along with instruments.
Steven Shaw, who entertained everyone at Christmas, was also back to carry on with his singing of golden oldies and classics. Liz and Hazel were holding hands and swaying along to the music, while Malcolm was singing his heart out.
All the residents and staff had a wonderful afternoon listening to Steven sing his song and perform for everyone, we really can’t wait to have him back!
Welcome to the Rotherwood care home latest news! We have a lot of activities going on here at Rotherwood.
Our wonderful residents have been enjoying some good wholesome fun in the last week with such activities as playing dominoes and baking some tasty treats. Here’s some photos of them in action, including Stephen and some of our lovely ladies enjoying a good old-fashioned game of dominoes.
We have lots of activities planned for February, which all our residents are looking forward to.

6th February is the date Lost Cord will be coming along to Rotherwood to help us pass the time away with some singing and listening to them play their instruments.
10th February we have Dave Jay coming in from 14.30 hours to help get our Valentines day celebration under way, all the residents are looking forward to having a little dance along to Dave Jay.
We also have some valentine’s crafts planned with our residents and their families. Please come along and help us make some valentines cards and gifts, along with some soap making and canvas painting.

Well here at Bank Close House we have hit the ground running entering 2020, but before we tell you what has been happening here, we would like to wish two of our staff a fond farewell as they move on to pastures new.
Kyle (Senior carer) has left us to go and join the team at Ashgate Hospice, we wish Kyle all the best for his future and thank him for 10 years’ service to Bank Close House, you will be greatly missed.
Also, we say bye bye to Pauline you has left us and again thank her for all her hard work and dedication.

This week our residents have been enjoying games of Bingo, Dominos and Target games which is not only good fun but is great for our residents’ hand eye co-ordination.

Devonshire Care is pleased to announce the acquisition of Morton Manor care home in Gainsborough (formerly The Manor, Dog & Duck Lane).
With our ethos of having the most beautiful “homes from home”, set in stately surroundings and providing a safe and stunning environment for our residents, we decided to acquire and fully refurbish Morton Manor.
Morton Manor now caters for up to 30 residents, providing high quality nursing and residential care in beautiful surroundings. The home is situated in the village of Morton, just 1.2 miles away from Gainsborough and a mile from Thonock Park.
The refurbishment sees all rooms being furnished to a very high standard, with new equipment and decor, as well as lockable storage facilities.

Just quick update on what has been happening here at Bank Close House to start the new year.
Age UK – Strictly No Falling Scheme Silver AwardWe are currently in the process of working alongside Age UK ( https://www.ageuk.org.uk/ ) and completing the Strictly No Falling scheme, which sets out to reduce the number of falls in a Care Home.
We have just received the Silver Award and are working towards obtaining the Gold Award, a very well done to Katy for all your hard work to achieve the silver award.
5 Star Food HygieneOur yearly Environmental Health food hygiene rating has been carried out and we have been awarded 5 Stars on our rating, which we have proudly displayed on our front door.
A Competitive & Creative New Year!Our Residents have been busy this new year, enjoying a very competitive game of Dominos and making calendars for their bedrooms. Our manager even has one attached to her office door and says “thank you Liz for my lovely calendar”.
A wonderful time was had by all at the Bank Close House Christmas party on Friday 13th December!
“Thunderroadz” entertained our residents with songs from across the generations and finished off with an ensemble of Christmas songs.
A fine and festive buffet was held afterwards and all residents drew out the raffle tickets. All the winning tickets are displayed on the Notice Board in reception, so take a look and see if you’re one of the lucky winners!
All the staff and residents enjoyed the singing and entertainment and a massive £320 was raised through the raffle and Christmas market.
The now clean shaven Kyle also raised an additional £237 for his No Shave November.
A residents meeting has also been held where the residents decided they would like some additional decorations in the garden. A selection of pictures were shown to all the residents and they all decided on some metal animal artworks to be displayed around the grounds of the back garden.
