It’s been all go here at Charnley House residential nursing home in Hyde over the past few weeks!

The Cat With No Name and Activities At Charnley House

Our residents have been enjoying the company of a lifelike toy cat! The cat has been donated by The Rotary club of Hyde. He purrs, cleans his paws and turns on his back for a belly rub. He has settled in really well and the residents love him The only thing is, he needs a name! We have asked all the residents what they would like him to be called and all of the names will be going in a hat and drawn at random. The name will be revealed soon.

We’ve been able to have some visits recently, which have gone down very well after such a long time with no relatives allowed. Our residents have also been enjoying games of soft ball. As you can see, it’s a highly contested sport!

And we’ve had visits from family members who are seeing their loved ones for the first time in many months.

A Fun & Busy January At Charnley House Care Home Hyde

We’ve had a busy few weeks here at Charnley House care home in Hyde.

Our residents have had great fun getting to know their inner artist at our art class and absolutely loved the recent 60’s themed day, where everyone got to dress up and sing along. We even had a range of musical props, which everyone found very amusing! The residents had also made some decorative artwork for the walls especially for the event.

As spring is approaching, we thought we’d better get our green fingers out, so we had a Daffodil potting day, which the residents very much enjoyed. They now have their own, personalised Daffodil pots. Hopefully, come spring, Charnley House will be awash with yellow.

We’ve enjoyed several Birthday celebrations, with gifts, cards and cakes, as well as a jigsaw afternoon, which obviously was accompanied by tea and biscuits.
