Day trip to Wentworth Garden Centre

Blowing Away the Autumn Cobwebs at Wentworth Garden Centre

As the seasons change and the air turns crisp, there’s no better way to embrace autumn than with a day out in the fresh air. Last week, our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to Wentworth Garden Centre and Farm. The perfect chance to stretch our legs, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and blow away those autumn cobwebs!

Although the morning was a little windy, spirits were high from the start. Wrapped up in coats and scarves, everyone took their time exploring the grounds, taking in the displays of autumn flowers and foliage. The bursts of colour made for some fantastic photos, and there was plenty of chatting and laughter along the way.

Next stop was the farmyard, where we were greeted by an array of friendly animals. The residents loved meeting the horses, goats, llamas, sheep and cows, with many stopping to give them a gentle pat or snap a photo. The animals were curious and playful, and it was lovely to see so many smiles as they came up to the fences to say hello.

After all that exploring, we made our way to the garden centre café for a well-deserved rest. A warm lunch, a hot cup of tea, and good company made the perfect ending to a delightful day. Conversations flowed easily as everyone reminisced about past visits, favourite animals, and family trips to the countryside.

It was a truly enjoyable outing, filled with fresh air, laughter, and friendship. Days like this remind us how important it is to get out and enjoy the simple pleasures of life, especially as we head into the colder months. A big thank you to the staff who organised the trip and to our residents for making it such a memorable day!

The Sun is Shining

The British weather can’t seem to make its mind up this summer. Knowing how unpredictable our weather can be, when the sun came out this morning the residents at Rotherwood Care Home went outside to make the most of the sunshine and get some much needed Vitamin D.

The residents really wanted to make the most of the sunshine so thats exactly what we did. The team helped the residents outside while our activities coordinator set up the regular activities outside. The activities included our weekly sing along choir club, a music quiz and tin-can-alley.

The residents had a wonderful day and even enjoyed a Choc-Ice while outside in the sun.

A Day at the Fun Fair

On Saturday 16th July Rotherwood Care Home will be opening its doors to the local community for our annual summer fair. This years theme will be ‘a day at the Fun Fair’.

Doors will be open from 1:30pm and there will be a variety of things happening, including; the vintage tea party, various stalls, Hook a Duck, Hot Dog stand, angel readings and much more.

Raffle tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from the homes office. We are also collecting raffle prizes and donations which can also be handed in to the homes office.

We look forward to seeing everyone and hope that the good weather continues for us.
